Featuring a 2HP three-phase induction motor, a full 400mm swing, plus a swivelling headstock, its capacity for large diameter work is unmatched in its class. Its massive cast-iron body ensures safe, precise turning work without movement or vibration.
Power Plus
A full 2HP (1500W) is on offer in the reliable three-phase induction motor, delivered through two pulley settings. One setting goes up to 3000rpm for fast, clean shaping of thinner stock, while the second setting gears things down for maximum torque. Perfect for maintaining stability when roughing irregular pieces, or for turning some of our harder Aussie timbers. And while the motor is 3-phase, it still plugs into a standard Australian 10A household supply.
Mobile Headstock
The Sherwood 400mm Maxi Lathe features a swivelling headstock with index points at multiples of 45 and 90 degrees, allowing ultimate versatility for intricate tasks.
