Bench Holdfast

The Bench Holdfast can be used by exerting increasing pressure using the screw mechanism, or used traditionally by quickly knocking it into and out of place with the tap on the arm with a mallet.

The large, ergonomic grip is made from two-component plastic and it easily yields high clamping pressure with just a few turns. The large 44mm-diameter rubber pressure plate ensures non-marring clamping of the workpiece while the serrated (fluted) shaft securely fits into any 19 mm (¾in) hole.

The galvanised screw features an overall length of 155mm. The maximum working height is 115mm when the shaft is inserted the recommended 60mm into the dog hole. The throat capacity (measured from the middle of the pressure plate to the inner leg of the shaft) is 125mm.

Torquata Alloy Bench Dogs

Machined from aluminium, these bench dogs have a flat face for work registration and a rim that supports and stabilises it on the bench surface. The post fits tightly in a 19mm (3/4in) workbench dog hole, resisting movement from horizontal forces. The flat face measures 20mm wide x 18mm high, with the post approximately 45mm long with tapered edges that make it easier to insert in your workbench.
