Continuing a 60-year legacy begun by his older brother Shigeru Tomita, Osamu Tomita hand-forges beautiful, small-batch Higonokami knives built to last a lifetime.

Forged using the traditional Japanese Warikomi lamination technique, this Sword-style Higo knife features a Shirogami #2 carbon steel core, forge-welded between softer steel outer layers. This creates a strong, yet lightweight knife that holds a very fine edge, best suited to detailed cutting tasks. With a double-sided bevel, this knife can be used either side regardless of your dominant hand.

The hammered Tscuhime pattern along the spine and handle adds to the uniqueness, beauty and tactile nature of this knife. A brass rivet joints the blade and handle, which can be hammered to re-tighten as the folding action loosens over the life of this knife. Supplied in a Paulownia wooden case, each hand signed by Master Tomita Osamu.

Due to the carbon steel material, this knife must be kept clean, dry, and lightly oiled if unused for longer periods.
