That’s why the Sherwood 8in Slow Speed Bench Grinder is purpose-built to run at just 1400RPM, preserving edge temper, reducing the risk of burning, and delivering cool, clean grinds. With premium white aluminium oxide wheels, cast-iron stability, and high-torque motor performance, this grinder is the ideal companion for sharpening chisels, plane blades, and carving tools.

A cast-iron base anchors the grinder solidly to your workbench, dramatically reducing vibration and enhancing accuracy. Crystal-clear perspex eye shields provide better visibility and added safety during grinding tasks. Grinder includes a 70 x 40mm and 85 x 40mm tool rest - making it a pleasure to use out of the box.

Slower Speed

Unlike standard 2800RPM grinders, this model runs at 1400RPM, significantly reducing friction heat during sharpening. This protects the temper of your high-speed steel (HSS) and high-carbon woodworking tools, which are more heat-sensitive due to their dense molecular structure.
