Designed for large and shared workshop spaces, this heavy-duty disc sander offers reliable power and precision for consistent, repeatable sanding. Ideal for end grain work, it allows for controlled material removal in fine increments. It also excels at repeatable square or angled sanding, and is well suited for shaping tasks.

Manufactured in Taiwan, the Sherwood 20in Disc Sander is built for long-term workshop use. The powerful 2200W (3HP) motor runs smoothly, supported by a stable cast iron table that resists vibration for cleaner, more accurate sanding. The cast iron table features easy angle adjustments from 45° to 90° with relative angle stops, locking handles on both sides and a clear angle reference scale. This ensures fast, secure setup for consistent results, whether sanding square edges or angled faces. Two mitre tracks, one parallel and one perpendicular to the disc, give greater versatility when using the supplied mitre gauge for repeatable sanding. The Sherwood 20in Disc Sander comes with adjustable rubber feet, however, it is recommended that a unit this size be secured to the floor.

4-Pole induction Motor

The 20-inch disc sander is powered by an impressive 2200W (3HP) 4-pole induction motor, spinning steadily at 1450rpm for maximum torque and control. Built for heavy-duty applications, this machine delivers smooth, reliable power under load — perfect for shaping edges, refining mitres, or squaring small workpieces with absolute accuracy. Whether sanding dense Australian hardwoods, plastics or acrylics, the motor won’t miss a beat. Compared with their DC counterparts, induction motors are quieter, simpler, and do not use any brushes. The less wearable parts there are, the less there is to go wrong or eventually replace! An induction motor increases the reliability of your machine, ensuring a long lifespan for large workshop needs.

Braked Motor

For large machines in communal workshops, bringing the machine to a complete stop quickly is an essential safety feature. The braked motor takes the disc from full speed to stationary in 2 seconds, using the standard or emergency stop buttons. This is extremely important in emergencies to protect yourself and your workpiece.

Dust Collection

Sanding machines create incredibly fine dust that can spread throughout your workshop and be hazard to you and your machines. A cabinet-mounted sander offers superior dust collection compared to benchtop models. Internal ducting directs debris to a rear 4in dust port, while the spring-latched cabinet captures any residual dust that escapes the extractor—keeping your workspace cleaner and more efficient.

Accessible Switch & Emergency Stop

The operational switch is located conveniently above the Disc Sander for easy access, whilst a Magnetic No-Volt Release (NVR) emergency stop button is located on the body of the cabinet, ensuring that the machine cannot be used until the NVR switch is disengaged.

20in Sanding Disc

The Sherwood 20in Disc Sander is supplied with a 100 Grit abrasive disc attached. The Disc Sander requires discs to be affixed with adhesives. This ensures ultimate precision with zero give. The disc will need to be cleaned intermittently to remove any adhesive build up.

Disc Safety Guard

A disc safety guard on the non-functional side of the disc prevents material from catching and being flung from the machine. An important safety feature, particularly in busy workshops. The guard is able to be removed for greater manoeuvrability on the table.

Mitre Gauge & Radius Sanding Attachment

The Sherwood 20in Disc Sander includes a mitre guide featuring 120 degrees of rotation, as well as a Radius Sanding Attachment. The radius attachment is a handy accessory that allows you to rotate your workpiece on a pin to produce consistent radiused curves, or circular workpieces.

5-Year Warranty

All Sherwood products feature a standard 5-Year limited warranty. No other disc sander in its class is more supported than the Sherwood 15in Disc Sander.
