The Sherwood 1100W Powered Downdraft Table features twin filters installed on both sides of the impeller perpendicular to the table. A splitter is designed on top of the blowers to separate larger chips and fine dust. Only the fine dust will be collected in the filters, while the larger particles and chips will be collected in the dust drawers.

Unless you catch these particles immediately, they drift around your workshop on the slightest puff of air, waiting for the unwitting woodworker to breathe them in. The health implications of fine airborne dust are well-documented.

The Ducted Downdraft Table collects dust at the source, improving air quality throughout the rest of the space. You can scrub the air, but that takes time – and meanwhile the dust has spread into every corner of your workshop. Or, you can suck the dust into your extractor straight from the source with a Downdraft Table – no need to scrub.
