The Razorsaw Folding Dozuki is a universal saw with a 0.3mm thick blade. The Universal teeth can cut in all directions: along, across, and diagonally across the grain. Perfect for precision woodworking, furniture making, carpentry work, musical instruments, and bamboo crafts. The metal spine holds the blade firmly in place during use. The blade is able to be replaced.

A compact, folding saw

Fugaku Japanese Saws are the same as all other Razorsaws with the added benefit of having a blade that folds back in on the handle. This makes it handy for two reasons - 

1. When not in use the hardened teeth are protected from damage. Impulse hardening, while improving the life of the teeth also makes them brittle and protecting the teeth from falls and knocks will extend the life of the saw.
2. The compact nature makes it easy to store both in your workshop where a full length Japanese Saw seems to take up a lot of space or can be put in a tool bag and pouch for easy use on a jobsite.

Why Japanese Saws?

The most striking advantage of the pull stroke saw is the ability to cut accurately with less effort. There is less binding, buckling and breaking of the blade because the blade is under tension on the pull cutting stroke rather than under compression as in Western style saws.

Because Japanese saws cut on the pull stroke, it permits the use of thinner, harder steel, and the blade can be much sharper. This will allow the blade's to have thinner kerfs, which reduces the effort of cutting because you are sawing a smaller amount of material compared to a Western-style saw, which means more smooth and accurate cuts.
