Health of Mind Art River Cast is a clear casting epoxy system designed for deep casting applications, including river tables, casting, and embedding.
RIVER CAST is a low viscosity, low exotherm epoxy with superior air release and minimal shrinkage. It is one of Australia's most popular casting resins due to its ease of use and due to it being safer to use.
- Colour: Clear liquid
- Pot life: ~3 hours
- Cured time: 48 – 72 hours (volume and temperature dependent)
- Cure to maximum strength: 7 days
- Mixed viscosity: Water like
- Shore D hardness (at 20 degrees C): 80-85
- Colour Stability: Low yellowing (will darken on UV exposure)
Cover working area with cardboard or plastic. The surface to be coated should be dry and free of contaminants.
For best results, apply at temperatures between 19-20 DEGREES and below 70% humidity.
Air bubbles may form on the surface. Air bubble release is greatly enhanced by use of a heat gun or gas torch. Care should be taken to avoid over heating in one spot – sweep the heat gun continuously across the surface for a few seconds.
The mixed product should be cured in a warm, dust free area, and should be covered with a box
PLEASE NOTE DEEP CASTING RESINS ARE VERY MUCH CONDITIONS DEPENDENT, TEMPERATURE CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENTS ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR OPTIMAL RESULTS. DO NOT POUR LARGE VOLUMES OF THIS RESIN AND LARGE DEPTHS IF YOU HAVE NOT PREPARED YOUR ENVIRONMENT AND ARE USING IT IN THE RIGHT CONDITIONS.
2 LAYERED POURS ARE ENCOURAGED IF YOU CAN NOT GET TO THE RECOMMENDED CONDITIONS. DO NOT PUSH THE BOUNDARIES WITH A THERMOSETTING POLYMER,
ALWAYS ASK FOR ADVICE IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE LARGER POURS.
Once the material has cured, it can be sanded or mechanically processed as required.
The resin can be tinted with HEALTH OF MIND pigments to achieve a vibrant finish.
The cure speed of this product depends greatly upon the volume of the product mix. This product is specifically designed for large volume mixes. Thin casts or applications as a coating will exhibit a longer cure time.
12mths @ 25oC unopened
This is a slow speed casting system specifically designed for a low exotherm for deep pours (50-100mm thick in a single pour) conditions dependent

From the founder Dayne Beams
"In June 2019 I was admitted into a rehab facility for a gambling and drug addiction that was controlling my life and ultimately having a huge impact on my mental health.
I was very closed-minded and wasn’t open to new things, I flipped this on its head and was willing to try anything to help me moving forward and part of the alternative forms of therapy was art therapy, the first time I spent in the art room I fell in love and had all of a sudden found something that was so beneficial for my mind.
While I was working with epoxy I always had things I was never completely satisfied with and this was mainly because the products I was using just weren’t at the quality I needed and what became really evident now upon reflection and having worked with some very smart chemists was the information I was receiving from my suppliers was total fiction and this really is a theme across the board from my own experiences, from there I put hours and hours into research and working closely with our manufacturing team so that I was comfortable enough to start selling our own epoxy systems
Health Of Mind Art now has its very own manufactured epoxy resins art products that we supply to people all over Australia working with timber and resin through to artwork. We sell high-quality products that are market-leading while also providing vital knowledge and information to our customers. We are specifically formulating epoxies for your artistic needs. This is our sole focus providing you with high-quality epoxies, Dayne absolutely loves talking all things epoxy so always feel free to come in and meet us. Our number one aim is to provide you with the right information."
