The 12in Benchtop Combination Planer Thicknesser has capacity for material up to 305mm wide in both jointing and thicknessing modes - unrivalled in a 1800W benchtop combo machine. If you are in need of both a wide-format jointer and thicknesser, but short on space, this is the machine for you!

Material removal is easily adjusted with metric scales in both modes, with simple yet effective knob and winder handles. The die cast aluminium planer bed measures 1075 x 310mm. Combined with the 610 x 127mm quick release jointer fence, adjustable between 0° and 45°, your material is always supported.

With a simple change over, convenient dust shroud with 4in port, plus an included push stick and push block, the Sherwood 12in Benchtop Combination Planer Thicknesser will be your workshop dimensioning partner through thick and thin.

Easy Changeover

The Sherwood 12in Benchtop Combo machine offers a simple changeover method. Rather than the standard lift-up function commonly found in combination machines, the compact nature of this model allows for the thicknesser to be accessed whilst the planer bed remains in place. All that is required to change modes is to add or remove the jointer fence and thicknessing height adjustment handle, and change the position of the dust shroud.

Helical Cutterhead with Tungsten Carbide Knives

The Sherwood 12in Benchtop Combination Planer Thicknesser features a helical cutterhead with tungsten carbide insert knives. These 28 diagonally arranged indexed inserts each have a slightly radiused edge, offering a true shear cut. This requires less horsepower, produces smaller chips, and provides a smoother cut with far less noise than other types of cutterheads.

Carbide knives do not require sharpening. Once dull, turn the knife to expose a fresh sharp edge. Expect to rotate the knives once for 8-10 blade changes on traditional straight HSS blades, and with four cutting edges, you can expect many years of service before replacement is required.

Dust shroud

The dust shroud acts as your point of extraction for both planing and thicknessing modes. The 4in outlet is suited to most common hose and coupling sizes.
