Wide Planing Capacity

The Sherwood 25in Euro Style Thicknesser can handle boards and slabs up to 630mm in width. The feed location of narrower boards can be varied from left to right across the cutterhead, distributing wear evenly across the 104 tungsten carbide inserts, reducing downtime and boosting productivity.    

Powerful Motor

Equipped with a 10HP 3-Phase S1 induction motor, the Sherwood 25in Euro Style Thicknesser effortlessly handles even the toughest Australian hardwoods. With this much power available, it can deliver a maximum depth of cut of 8mm, allowing rapid progress towards your final stock dimension.

Precision Depth Adjustment

Thicknessing accuracy to 0.1mm is standard. Enter the desired height into the digital control and the motorised bed moves automatically to that setting, with automatic backlash compensation ensuring perfect precision every time.

Electronic Variable Speed Feed Control

The Sherwood 25in Euro Style Thicknesser offers infinitely variable feed rates between 4 and 16 metres per minute, allowing the operator to easily match the number of cuts per inch to the operation.

Helical Cutterhead

The helical cutterhead features 4 helical spirals of 26 four-sided tungsten carbide inserts. Each insert is lightly-radiused and oriented at a shear angle to the angle of rotation, delivering a superior cut quality and excellent edge retention.

Electronic Height Adjustment

The bed height can be manually set by holding the ‘raise’ and ‘lower’ buttons, or it can be pre-set. Enter the desired height into the digital control and the motorised bed moves automatically to that setting.

Rapid Stock Removal 

A 10HP cutterhead motor driving a helical cutterhead, coupled with EVS feed rate, delivers deep potential cut depths of up to 8mm per pass. Full-width anti-kickback fingers and a serrated infeed roller ensure that stock is securely moved through the machine even at high removal rates.
