Biscuit joinery is an essential technique for composite panel work, aligning and strengthening glue joints.

Biscuit Joiners are used to align two pieces of solid timber panelling. They can improve the bond in many applications, including edge-to-edge, mortise joints, tenon joints, flush joints, and angled joints.

During the pressing process, the biscuits are compressed so that they expand when using water-based based wood glue, filling the slot completely and locking the joint. Each biscuit is impressed to create a glue track to ensure even distribution of glue in the slot.

You can use Milescraft Biscuit Jointers with any plate joiner or router bit that cuts a 4mm slot.

Tip: Store your biscuits in a cool, dry place to prevent swelling. If you find that your biscuits have swollen, due to moisture, place in oven on low heat (150° to 200°) for 30 to 60 minutes to extract the moisture that caused the biscuit to swell.
