Also referred to as a lock mortise chisel, the curved blade of this swan neck chisel helps to lever out waste. The mortise chisel has a leather disc shock absorber, as well as a steel ferrule around the handle-end to protect the handle when striking with a mallet. Use in conjunction with mortise chisels for cleaning the bottom of mortises, or other deep blind recesses.
Kirschen tools are still largely crafted in the way they were made decades ago, forged from the finest steel and carefully heat treated to 61 Rc for exceptional edge retention along the entire working length of the blade. Electronic monitoring during the forging and hardening process ensures that high standards are consistently maintained.
