The unusual combination of a cranked blade and 45-degree angles on the cutting edge of this chisel allows greater access to hard-to-reach areas. The offset handle provides clearance when working into tight areas, and allows you to work with the blade flush on the work piece. This is perfect for flush-trimming applications, as the chisel is prevented from digging into the work piece.
Kirschen tools are still largely crafted in the way they were made decades ago, forged from the finest steel and carefully heat treated to 61 Rc for exceptional edge retention along the entire working length of the blade. The chisels are then polished to a mirror finish and fitted with the perfect sized handle suited to the blade width. Electronic monitoring during the forging and hardening process ensures that high standards are consistently maintained.
These chisels are fitted with an oval wooden handle that fits comfortably in the hand, with a double loop to protect the handle when striking with a mallet. An incredibly strong and well-made tool, but not heavy – this is a well-balanced tool that will offer incredible control over the finest projects.
