Sherwood Heavy-Duty Polyurethane Dust Hose 4in Diameter

Sherwood 4in Heavy-Duty Polyurethane (PU) Dust Hose is a premium flexible ducting solution for high-wear applications.

Please select your preferred size option. Note: nominal lengths refer to the extended length of the hose. 

Sherwood Polyurethane Hose is constructed with 0.6mm heavy-duty walls and a copper wire helix to deliver tough, long-lasting performance. PU is significantly more abrasion-resistant than PVC, which makes it the natural choice for applications where the ducting will be moved from machine to machine across unfinished flooring. 

With lower internal friction than standard PVC or polyethylene equivalents, it is the easiest way to upgrade the overall efficiency of your existing extraction setup. Perfect for the rigours of CNC machining and any situation that demands high performance extraction performance. 

PVC and polyethylene can become brittle over time. This is because it contains plasticiser to make it more flexible. However, the plasticiser wears away over time, making the hose prone to cracking. By contrast, polyurethane displays superior resistance to flex-induced cracking. And with its smoother surface, PU has less internal friction, boosting the efficiency of your extraction setup.

The transparency is good in letting you see the wood shavings being sucked up. and the hose doesn't collapse with the suction.
But there is a problem - the wire coil ends need to be bent down to conform to the tube radius where they exit at the ends of the tube.

This hose is almost impossible to fit to standard dust fittings or anything else i can find. it is too tight to fit even with a heat gun because the wire doesn't soften(obviously).
i dont recommend it.

This is a great product and a reasonable price. I was surprised that the hose was so much better than one is bought somewhere else a few years ago. It feels much more sturdy yet is super flexible. I'd definitely recommend this type of hose.

haven’t unpacked it yet…. . hoping it fits english camvac dust extractor ( 4 inch) Ages ago I bought a 100 mm hose and it was near impossible to fit onto a 4 inch outlet… you live and learn…. .

There must be better products on the market

i ordered 6M of this product and it lays out at 4. 5M. The 6M is with the hose anchored to a post and dragged out to perhaps towards 6M after which it will immediately spring back to about 4. 5M. Also it is extremely flexible and gains this with deep ridges in the plastic which gives it poor flow resistance.
There must be better products on the market than this and hopefully when you order 6M you get 6M

The inner diameter is too

The inner diameter is too small and very hard to get over the machine ports. It does retract very well though, i. e. better than other brands I've used before.
