Manufactured from durable M2 High Speed Steel (HSS) and hardened to 62-64 Rockwell, this tool is carefully ground and ready to turn right out of the box. Due to its high abrasion resistance, M2 HSS will hold a sharp edge much longer than many other steels. This means less time spent sharpening those unique grinds, and more time spent woodturning. High-speed steel also withstands the heat better than traditional carbon steel, making it particularly well suited to turning tools.

Bowl Gouge

A Bowl Gouge is used for turning along and on end grain in medium to large bowls, and other curved objects. The 55 - 60 degree angle grind assists in turning end grain with minimal dig-in. The profile of the tip of the gouge enacts a scraping motion, providing a smoother finish on end grain, with the deep flute allowing easy removal of large quantities of material.
