CHANGE OF OWNERSHIP
As of 1st October 2014 ownership at Timbecon has changed.
Ross Gobby, the original owner of Timbecon who sold it in 2007, recently became aware that the business had failed and negotiated to buy it from the appointed liquidator.
The business has been bought with a limited amount of stock, but it will begin trading again with this limited range as soon as possible. We are planning the re-opening date - before the end of November. We expect to be building the range with local suppliers first and from overseas suppliers as soon as possible. The shop will be relocated to Canning Vale.
Along with Ross, his son Hague will be opening a retail outlet in Melbourne in the first half of 2015. Hague started the business Bench Standard (www.benchstandard.com) late last year and will be merging this business with Timbecon as soon as it is practical, with the full Bench Standard range being available in Perth as soon as it opens.
In the meantime Bench Standard will continue trading as per normal and when the businesses have completed full integration we will look at ceasing operations on both websites.
For all customers with outstanding gift or frequent shopper vouchers, these will be honoured as per original terms. The new ownership team will also honour all warranty, including Sherwood’s Five-Year Warranty, upon production of the original receipt.
It will take us some time to restore the full range in Perth as well as make it available via our retail outlet in Melbourne. However, we hope to be operating close to full strength in early 2015. In the meantime, as we are able to provide more information on store openings and new product arrivals, we will post it to our website.
We are looking forward to serving you again soon.
