Ogee classical router bits for decorative panels

Horizontal panel raising bits are great for producing centre panels with cathedral or arched shapes for the traditional raised panel door look. If you are only making rectangular-shape panels then we recommend the vertical panel raising bits which are much safer and easier to use.

If you are using 19mm door frames and 19mm raised panel material, the raised panel will sit proud of the frame to provide a very strong 3D appearance to the door. If you would like the raised panel to sit flush, then we recommend the horizontal panel raiser with back-cutter.

When using horizontal panel raising bits, you should usually machine the timber in two passes and you must run the router on its lowest speed setting (a maximum of 12,000rpm).

**These bits must be used in a router table with fence.
