This is where a mixture of debris clogs the diamond stone surface, reducing the abrasion rate of the stone. The relief gaps on these stones provide specifically designed recesses where the waste material is forced during sharpening thus reducing the pasting effect and reducing the need to frequently clean.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eFinger recessed backing plates\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe backing plates are recessed at both ends to make it easier and quicker to remove from the diamond stone from the carriage when changing over to a different diamond grit.
