Spiral scroll saw blades are an extremely innovative invention
If you've ever thought what life would be like if you didn't have to twist and turn your workpiece, your saw blade did all the work for you, then you're not alone. Olson have actually developed a blade that eliminates the need to turn and they're phenomenally effective.
Spiral blades are regular blades twisted so that all teeth are pointed in different directions. Perfect for cutting in many directions without having to turn the workpiece. Not recommended for beginners, but still have a very popular blade.
Spiral Tooth blades saw in all directions with 360º cutting capability. Excellent for 0º radius scroll/fret work – you never have to turn the work piece.
Where can I use spiral scroll saw blades?
For cutting wood, plastic, wax, non-ferrous metals, plaster, bone, horn, etc. and can be used in power scroll saws, hand-held fret and jewelers saw frames. Cutting speed and finish depends on material thickness and number of teeth per inch.
There's not necessarily a lot of applications for these blades, we've had a few in our workshop now and for the majority of cutting we're doing, we simply don't use them. But we've had feedback from our customers that they're exceptional and they've been surprised at just how easy they are to use, so with that in mind, we can honestly recommend them.
These premium blades are made of high carbon steel, hardened and tempered to stay sharp longer. Good for bevel cutting letters in names. Increase throat capacity and cut longer pieces without turning!
