Narex has extended its range of rasps and files with this new range of checkering files.
Checkering files are typically used to create grooves, for example on gunstocks. The extraordinary cut of this file is formed by longitudinal grooves, which are crossed at 90o with transverse grooves.
The blades of Narex rasps are manufactured from tool steel. After they are CNC stitched, they are hardened to HRc 45. The handles are Hornbeam.
CNC stitching ensures that the pattern is uniform and each tooth is raised to the same height. The result is a wood rasp that exhibits a steady rate of removal and produces an even finish on the workpiece.
Handle: stained hornbeam wood, waxed.
Blade: carbon steel, hardness 60 HRc
