These are beautifully made marking knives with Rosewood handles rivetted directly to the blade. The knife measures approximately 152mm long with the 19.0 x 1.4mm blade exposed by approximately 57mm. The 95mm Rosewood handle cheeks sit comfortably in the hand and make it easy to use for extended periods of time.
Unlike (the now more popular) striking knives, the long flat section of the blade registers well against all straight edges and rules and seems to feel easier to hold accurately compared with the striking knives.
There are two options are available - bevelled for predominantly right or left-handed people, with the ability to flip it upside and use the point when you ocassionally work on your non-preferred side, meaning you generally only need the one that you will use most regularly to do virtually all jobs.
The blade steel is forged, finished, assembled and each knife is inspected prior to leaving Crown so you can be assured a lifetime of use.
