A ceramic formed stone produced by King specifically for flattening their Waterstones.
As Waterstones are used, they become dished and need flattening to maintain a flat surface to sharpen chisels and plane irons on. A number of different solutions are available - some use concrete surfaces, while others are known to flatten with diamond plates - but the ceramic flattening stone is recommended due to cost, reliability and performance with the formed relief channels creating an aggressive sharp edge to dress the Waterstone plus also remove the slurry waste from the surface.
It cleans and removes the Waterstone grit with ease, leaving a flat, smooth and clean surface with the least amount of effort, ready to be used again. The flattening stone measures 150 x 50 x 27mm so it fits comfortably in the hand and is big enough to easily flatten all standard King Waterstone sizes. The flattening stone will not work with oil stones.
