Wood augers have a screw tip to pull itself into the work piece being drilled and locate the centre of the hole easily, with perimeter cutters to cut the outside of the hole and horizontal scapers to remove the wood which can peel upwards through the steep spiral flute to quickly clear the hole. They give a clean, accurate hole and tend to track true rather than follow the grain like spade bits do. Perfect for drilling deep holes in smaller diameters, a set of these is needed in any woodworking shop.
All the bits have a hexagonal drive to be gripped securely in 3 jaw chucks and quality is suitable for all woodworking applications including Australian hardwood drilling and comes in a sturdy metal case to protect them when not in use.
