Produced in the Czech Republic, these dovetail chisels are forged from highly alloyed chrome-manganese steel, and heat-treatment hardened to Rc59. The blades are accurately ground and fully sharpened so are virtually ready for use out of the box and meet the German DIN 5139 standard.
Following a similar design to Japanese dovetail chisels, the triangular shape with hollow-ground back excels at removing waste from between dovetail pins. They are also suitable for a variety of other tasks because their triangular sections and narrow edges allow them to work adjacent to any inclined surface.
The stained and varnished beech handles are reinforced with steel hoops and ferrules for strength. The blade is slightly angled to provide clearance for flush-trimming projections and paring recessed joints.
The blade length measures approximately 63mm with a shaft length from tip to bolster of 130mm and an overall length of approximately 270mm long.
A great range of chisels - they are well-priced, great quality and are perfect for beginners and/or school or workshops where sharing tools is common.
