Quadrant hinges are used in high-quality, ornate wooden boxes where a decorative feature is desired.
The L-shaped hinge needs to be recessed into the corner of a box base and lid, with a mortice cut in the base and top to allow for free movement of the integral stay. A sharp chisel can cut these recesses quickly and effectively when marked out or sometimes a routing jig is created to speed up the process if doing multiple boxes.
Available in three finishes - solid brass, gold-plated (a comparison of these two finishes is shown in the second image of the gallery) and chrome-plated.
The gold-plated quadrant hinges are solid brass and then gold-plated and are the most common hinge finish chosen due to its bespoke appearance.
Available in either pairs or packs of 10 (5 pairs). All twin-packs come with matching fixing screws, screws for the packs of 10 are available separately.
