A great addition to your lathe! This hood has an amazing 420 x 320mm opening to collect large quantities of shaving and funnel it to standard 4in pipe – so easy to hook up to a standard extraction system! It has a leading lip around the outside edge of the opening, so it can be pre-drilled and screwed into place. But it may not suit just the lathe; it can suit just about any situation where extraction outlets aren’t available or easy to install.
Many customers want to set up their own collection stands next to their work piece. The problem is finding the right connector as a chute. This dust hood can solve many of these workshop problems. It has a reasonable mouth opening of approximately 250 x 110mm and is tapered for efficient dust flow. It is great as a basic to build a larger hood or simply installing on a workbench or machine to collect dust near the action – such as a drill press.
When you need to go around a 90 degree corner, this elbow will make it easier to navigate the turn. Elbows are a better option to use than hose because the volume within the elbow stays constant, but the volume in hose that has been bent at a 90 degree angle is reduced, therefore reducing efficiency along the whole length of the system. Available for use in 4in (100mm) extraction systems.
The hose that we stock is made of heavy-duty polyethylene plastic. It is clear so that blockages are easy to see and are available in a variety of different diameters to suit just about every extraction application. The hose has a reinforced banding around the outside to ensure that retains its shape and is suitably rugged for all workshops. Hose is sold per metre.
Mount your hose to the wall or your stands quickly and easily using these brackets. Mount with standard 8-gauge screws (not included) so the hose goes where you want it to.
A range of reducers to adapt from one hose size to another. It is always recommended to extract with 4in and higher diameter hoses to get the most out of your extraction system and minimise the distance the dust has to travel in smaller diameter hoses.
With the 4” outlet towards the bottom of the hood, they are perfect for using at the bottom of a chute – such as that of a jointer. Recommended where the hood is likely to be installed vertically as gravity will assist in the flow of chips.
Perfect to convert a single 4” connection into a twin 4” hose connection. Design provides smooth convergence and minimises blockages compared to a T-Piece.
