Variable Burnisher - 05-K-3701
Cabinet scrapers are among the most useful (and least expensive) tools in a woodworking shop. Unfortunately, many woodworkers have difficulty putting the optimum hook on a scraper for the job at hand. Since scrapers have four working edges, it is possible to make one into a highly versatile tool with each edge having a different cutting characteristic. The problem most people have is choosing the best burnishing angle and then attempting to hold the burnisher at exactly that angle.

To restore a dull scraper, you should file the scraper to remove any existing hook. To get a perfectly true edge you need the filing marks to be perfectly parallel to the edge. The Veritas Jointer/Edger holds a file at 90 degrees to the scraper face as well as ensuring that it is perfectly flat. Cornering Tool - 05-K-5030
A cornering tool is actually a small molding plane. It cuts a fixed-radius curve on an edge. These cornering tools have a different radius cutter at either end. One tool cuts a 1/16" and a 1/8" radius and the other cuts a 3/16" and a 1/4" radius. They are ground with two fixed fences that stop the tool from cutting past the fixed radius. Made in England from tool steel hardened to Rc48-52, they hold an excellent edge.

Super Hard Milled Scrapers - 05-K-3010
Most cabinet scrapers are sheared from spring steel, hardened to Rc38-42. These scrapers are harder (Rc48-52) and hold an edge longer. The edges are carefully milled to a square, sharp 90° ready for immediate use on fine work. For heavy-duty use, a hook must be burnished onto them. The prepared edges not only save you the initial effort of filing and stoning, but indicate the condition they should be in the next time you intend to put a hook on them.
