How To Order - Terms and Conditions

Unfortunately in this age we have to provide a whole bunch of legal stuff now. It probably is a good thing, as if you have any questions it may get answered here and you won't have to ask us. On the other hand, if you do have any questions, then you should definitely contact us. That's what customer service is all about.

Prices

Prices online are correct at the time of ordering. We will always charge the price shown on our website, unless of course we make a ridiculous typo like a drill press for $29 instead of $299. We will notify you of any changes before we process payment, but usually the next thing you will hear from us is that the order has already left.

Backorders

We will charge you for the full cost of freight (as if we were sending out the order as one package) with the initial shipment.  We will send out any backorders from this point on at our cost.  We will hold backorders for a reasonable amount of time to consolidate the shipment if two or more items are out of stock and are expected to arrive here at different times.  We usually believe that a one-two week period is a reasonable amount of time. Please contact us with any queries.

Warranty

All products advertised by Timbecon Pty Ltd carry a limited warranty against faults in manufacture from the Australian distributor. Timbecon import approximately 70% of its range from overseas so we carry the warranty for the majority of products, including the whole Sherwood and Torquata range, as well as other brands such as Crown, Incra, Shinwa, Razorsaw and Veritas. This means that we can sort out warranty issues swiftly. We will always co-ordinate with the Australian distributor and the customer in other warranty claims where appropriate.

All items imported by Timbecon Pty Ltd carry a minimum 12-month warranty against faulty workmanship. The Sherwood range of machinery caries a warranty of 3 years. Any item that you deem to be defective needs to be returned to us for inspection. If the item is not defective, the customer is required to pay for freight both ways, if the item is deemed to be defective, Timbecon will pay the freight both ways.

In addition to this, it is the customer's responsibility to ensure they have an adequate and properly connected electical supply capable of running the machine(s) they wish to buy.  A warranty claim will be denied in all cases where extension cords and/or powerboards are deemed to have contibuted to the failure of any electrical or electronic component of the machine.  The same exclusion will apply where the machine is connected to the incorrect voltage and/or amperage designated for the machine.

Returns

This covers items that are no longer required.

Prior to returning anything to Timbecon the customer must contact Timbecon for prior approval.  The customer needs to send the item back at their cost together with the receipt as proof of purchase and where applicable, should be returned unused, in its original packaging. Items returned which have been used and/or are not in the original packing and/or cannot be re-sold as new will not be accepted or will incur a surcharge if a refund is given. 

 Once the item has been received we will issue a refund for the item, subject to the above conditions..

Availability

All items listed on the website are available and are usually in stock. We can find that sometimes when we are out of stock and go to re-order from our supplier, that the item has been deleted, however this is rare. We do generally believe that all items that are online are available when you place the order. If we find this not to be the case, we will contact you and discuss other options before dispatching the order.

We have 95% of our range in stock at any one time so you can be assured that most orders will be filled on first shipment. Most times we are only out of stock for a week or two, but sometimes the wait can be longer on imported items due to production schedules of manufacturers or shipping schedules around the world that are out of our control.

Specification

Measurements and specifications are supplied as an approximate guide. No responsibility is accepted for variations from information supplied on the Timbecon website or in the Timbecon catalogue. All photographs and illustrations are only intended as a guide and products can change without notice. All items shown in pictures or illustrations with the main product are deemed to be accessories or props and are not included in the sale price of the main item unless expressly stated.

In all cases, if there is something specific you require or you wish to buy an item specifically becuase of a listed feature, just contact us before you order to make sure you get what you need.

Suitability

The purchaser must satisfy himself or herself as to the suitability of any product for the intended use before purchase and information provided by the staff of Timbecon Pty Ltd may not alter this condition of sale. We do have a lot of experience here, but we are not mind readers. We will try our best to help though and if we can't answer your questions, we'll tell you.  It is always the customer's responsibility to ask any questions prior to making their purchase and to have, or cause themselves to have, the required level of skill and dexterity to use the machines, tools or accessories they wish to purchase.

Warning

Woodworking machines and tools are potentially dangerous (stating the obvious!). The purchaser or user of the products offered for sale by Timbecon Pty Ltd should take every precaution while using the products to avoid personal injury and/or property damage. This includes, but is not limited to, the use of personal protective equipment, electrical safety precautions, inhaling dust particles (which are all now classified as carcinogenic, see our Safety section for ways to protect yourself). Items are used at your own risk.

Weight

Not all products in our range are sold by weight. The weight of all  products is intended as a guide only for calculating postage and freight. The weight of many products varies with their volume. The weight includes the boxes and packaging of the individual items. Outer protective packaging or airbag weight is to be added where necessary.

Freight and Delivery

Prices apply to goods purchased from our store. We can arrange postage, delivery or freight at an additional cost as will be displayed in the order form, when calculating the total cost of your order.  You can get a cost for postage/freight simply by putting the items you wish to buy into the online shopping cart and proceeding through the online checkout.  As you enter in your preferred delivery address anywhere in Australia, the cost of fright and optional insurance is calculated automatically.  You can then proceed with the order, or you can back out if you don't wish to porceed. 

Insurance - covering loss/damage in transit

Freight companies are classified as general carriers and therefore do not cover damage or loss of goods in transit. While they take the utmost care, they do not cover these situations with insurance. We have selected freight companies that we believe offer the best service possible to minimize these problems, but we also offer a service where you can insure the goods. This is calculated as a charge of $1 for every $50 of the value of goods ordered. It is always rounded up to the closest dollar amount. The amount calculated is with government taxes included on the purchase price. A small price to pay for peace of mind.

In all cases we recommend the optional protection of insurance.

Dangerous Goods

Dangerous goods cannot be sent by any freight companies that we use and for that reason do not appear on the Timbecon website or in the Timbecon catalogue.  Customers who come into our shop in bentley can still purchase these items directly.

Government Taxes

All prices on this website include the 10% Australian Goods and Services tax. 

All customer orders include  GST.
