The deluxe wide drum sander has some great improvements over the standard model. It adds up to a machine that works well in any workshop. The improved features on the deluxe model are:
Aluminium Bodied Motor
These run cooler over long periods of time. Cast body motors can get hot and cause burns when skin comes into contact.
Mounted On A Durable Cabinet Stand
The sturdy cabinet stand can be used to store accessories and replacement paper for easy access when in use
Motor size (drum): 1½hp (1100W)
Motor size (feed platen): ¼hp (185W)
Sanding width: 400mm (800mm in two passes)
Sanding height: 125mm (5")
Dust port diameter: 60mm (2½")
Sandpaper stock width: 100mm
Sandpaper stock length: 2m
When using 100mm wide sand paper you need a 1.98M length, so you would need to buy a 2M piece.
In/outfeed table size: 425 x 245mm
Larger Dust Extraction Port
It now comes with a standard 4" dust port to improve extraction, a major improvement on this style of machine. A Dust Collection Kit, to upgrade your WDS-400-B or WDS-400-C sander to have a 4" dust outlet, is now available. Also available separately is the bracket support kit that will suit the WDS-400-A original-style drum sander.
