It can be reversed and re-loaded to give you up to four times more life than a standard flap sander – all out of relatively cheap sanding belts. It works on a drill press, but just as well free-hand and can be used on all materials – obviously timber, but also metals (removing rust etc), plastics and removing paint – such as sanding gutters to re-apply paint, and anything else you can think of that can be sanded. It doesn’t have to be used in one configuration either, you can modify your belts to be more pliable or skip a clamping section to allow the belt to follow the contour more easily.
