With a 5" long threaded post, and a large diameter wing nut for tightening, it can be used on work surfaces up to 4-1/8" thick through a 1/2" diameter or larger dog hole.
All-steel construction, it is ideal for holding fences, making work stops, securing carvings, etc.
The Veritas Bench Stud mounts in a 3/4" diameter hole. It can lock into
material as thin as 5/8" (depending on the strength of the material) and in
blind holes 1-1/4" deep.
Place the wedge in the hole. Rotate the toggle bar until the wedges lock
in the hole.
The 5" long stud has 1/2-13 UNC threads and provides an overall clamping
capacity of 4-1/8" using the supplied wing nut.
Note: The 1/2-13 thread offers enormous mechanical advantage, and is
fully capable of drawing the post out of the dog hole, even if it has been
tightly locked in place. Do not over-torque the wing nut.
