About Crown Bevel Edge Chisels

Crown offers some of the best value-for-money, Western-style cabinet chisels in the world. Whilst each chisel is price competitive with other ranges available, we have selected Crown for the quality of the chisels offered, rather than the price point at which they enter the market.

The bevel chisels shown features identical blades but differ on the handle type, depending on what situation they are likely to be used in.

The blades are cast for high-carbon tool steel, offering excellent edge-holding characteristics, whilst still being able to absorb the shock when struck with a mallet or hammer. The blades are ground into shape and polished.

The polishing of the blade does several things. It ensures the bevels are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the edge of the chisel so that they fit into the tightest corners. It also reduces friction on the work piece by removing the machining marks found on most other chisels.
