A great bandsaw for the workshop that has large sawing requirements. A lot of its features are found on industrial bandsaws with a significantly higher price tag. The most important of any machine is the motor; this has a 3hp (2300W) alloy-bodied motor, which can be run for extended periods of time with minimal heat build-up. Power is transferred via a triple-pulley system, and allows for two speeds for wood and metal cutting.
   

The benefit of a triple pulley system is that it allows fast speed changes by loosening off the idler pulley to change the speeds, a very time-efficient method of speed change. The two alloy wheels are perfectly balanced and have rubber-compound tyres to ensure the blade tracks properly.

The top wheel has adjustment to ensure it tracks true. It also has a tension knob located under the top wheel cover for easy access, and most importantly a quick-release blade tension mechanism. There is a viewing window built into the front cover of the top wheel so that the tension scale can be viewed easily. This makes the tensioning of different width blads easy because it takes the guesswork out of blade tensioning.

Both wheel covers are hinged for fast, easy access to the wheels.

The quick-release blade tension mechanism allows for fast replacement of blades of identical width or for relieving the tension on the blade if its not in use for a long period of time. The blade guide assemblies are all-sealed bearings. The top blade guide assembly is height-adjustable via a hand wheel on the side of the top wheel cover. Both assemblies are cast and bolted together for a lifetime of trouble-free sawing.

The table is a large cast iron unit. The fence is included with the saw. The table can be tilted -10 - +45 degrees. Unlike most bandsaws of this size, it is done by loosening the clamp and tilting it on a trunnion system. Not only is this an easier way to tilt the table, but it also is far more accurate, allowing for fine adjustment.

The whole saw comes on a cabinet stand, with a door on the front so instructions, spare blades etc. can be stored with the machine. A good quality mitre guide is also included in the low price.
